In honor or taking part in my first Full IRONMAN Mont-Tremblant triathlon on August 22nd 2021, I have chosen to support Starlight Children's Foundation® Canada's seriously ill children and their families during this time of social distancing and isolation.

My wife and i are Mexicans and newcomers to Montreal, both triathletes and marathon runners with a passion for making a difference through racing to support a cause. Since I moved to Canada in November 2019, I have been looking for a way to reach this goal and decided what better way to do so than to associate my efforts with Starlight Canada, and make my first IRONMAN experience more rewawrding.

All our charity efforts are focused to helping sick children, that is why we chose to join efforts with Starlight Canada, because they not only make children living with life-threatening illnesses dreams come true, but they help the family as a whole.

 


Starlight Canada has been dedicated to brightening the lives of seriously ill children and their families for over 30 years. Focusing on the family as a whole, their mission is to bring joy, laughter, relief and a whole lot of smiles. Their large variery of in-hospital and outpatient programs help bring back some strength, hope and lost childhood by being that reliable and shining star in a dark and stormy sky.

There are many wonderful Starlight programs, but we have decided that supporting their emergency program called “Play from Hospital to Home Packs” is the most important at this time. Starlight needs to ship over 2,000 Play From Home Packs to seriously ill children and their families across the country that are currently isolated at home due to COVID-19. The package will contain board games, crafts and other interactive activities. Many of these will involve a national group activity where all children will be logging on to Facebook live with special guests including Starlight's very own Captain Starlight.

With a generous donation of $100 today, YOU can send a kit to a Starlight family stuck at home and bring smiles, laughter and joy directly into their living room.
